Skating and Cycling through Rain, Wind and Snow

I was seriously wasted by the other team members over the last two days. Didn't expect that after placing better than the rest at the half marathon in Steinfurt last weekend. They are far fitter than what they showed. I am really happy with what they are capable of and can't wait to see us all in action

To the weather: As expected: Snow, rain, clouds and some occasional sun (yeah!). I also just went through the painful process of reviving my toes from our last 50K cycle. Sebastian and I taped the holes in our cycling boots to keep us from freezing... Didn't work at all: The boots have mesh on the top and let in pretty much everything except for warmth. I couldn't feel my entire foot after our tour (I couldn't feel my toes after the first 5-10K). It started snowing when we got back today. It was soaking wet yesterday morning and it snowed yesterday evening. In general: It's freezing. It's cold and the winds a killer. I'm not fit enough, but team training is just awesome!

We cycled on dykes next to the German coastline at the Jadebusen. I'll bring a flag with me to show the wind speed next time.

Our best skater (Marcel) is back to his usual performance level (Waste everybody, everywhere and in every situation). He had his woman to take care of today (His loss ;-) ) so Tim, Sebastian and I took to the streets: Skating in the Sun and cycling through the evenining storm. Here's a pic of Sebastian from our last cycling tour today:

-Got Milk?-

We got back to Wilhelmshaven in the dark. It's great to have KED helmets with red lights in the back... Just gives me that extra bit of security, while racing down dark streets.

Two or three more days of training camp left... General rythm: Eat, clean, train, stretch, shower, , cook, eat, clean, train, stretch, shower, cook, eat, [...]

Goin' to the movies...
